Member of Staff Dismissal Appeal, Finance Pay & Personnel, Curriculum & Complaints Committees
I am married with 2 young sons, Finn (Yr7) & Archie (Yr5). Archie has severe and complex learning difficulties, Autism, Speech
& Language difficulties & Sensory Processing difficulties. He joined Stanley School in September 2011 when he was 3yrs old. He
has been part of the Learning Outside The Curriculum class since 2013, and has developed in ways we initially thought impossible.
I have always been heavily involved with both boys’ primary schools. Finn attended Christ Church CE Primary in Moreton until
Yr3. I volunteered in several classes whilst also acting as Secretary & Chair of the PTA there for almost 3 years. When he moved to
Bidston Village CE Primary School for Yr4, I was able to give time to Stanley School and help with FOSS. I have run FOSS to-
gether with Sally Davies for a number of years and lately with support from staff members Ceri Walker, Laura Griffiths & Olivia
Hughes. We have raised a huge sum of money over this time, enabling us to provide a new school mini bus, and start to develop playground facilities for the children. Until recently I also assisted classes with swimming, one morning a week since we moved to the new building. My husband, Richard, was a governor at Stanley School until December last year. Before having my family, I worked in the Retail Sector, for Clarks International. I have always loved my time working within the school environment, being able to be a part of a child’s learning and development is a huge honour. I am delighted to be able to assist Stanley School on their Governing Body. It is small payback for all that they have done for our son & our family. I believe that I can offer a considered view from a parent’s perspective, as well as understanding the school mechanisms. I am passionate that all children achieve their potential, regardless of disabilities, and become all that they can be; and their years at Primary School are a crucial foundation for this. I look forward to being part of the wider team enabling every child to reach their potential and for Stanley School going from strength to strength.
