Robins
Welcome to Robins Class – our class of 5–7 year-old children following the Indigo pathway. We are a group of children who are learning, growing and discovering the world around them through play, exploration and meaningful experiences.

Our Team
Class Teachers: Ceri and Sophia
Support Staff: Sean, Helen, Ange, Kay, Rachael,
Robins Class is a specialist therapy class where we provide highly individualised teaching and support tailored to each pupil's unique strengths, needs and ways of engaging with the world around them.
We support our pupils across two dedicated classrooms. The main Robins classroom is where we deliver specialist teaching using a range of evidence-based approaches, including Tacpac, JABADAO, Positive Eye and Hand Class. Our second space, Robins Nest, is a calm, supportive environment designed specifically to help pupils with sensory regulation, so they feel settled and ready to engage with their learning. This dual-classroom approach allows us to provide the right environment at the right time for each child.
Our curriculum focusses on developing communication skills, independence, sensory regulation and engagement with learning. We make the most of small-group learning and continuous provision, creating opportunities for pupils to access learning in ways that are meaningful and appropriate for them. Each pupil's learning journey is carefully planned to build on their individual strengths and interests, with activities adapted to suit their preferred ways of learning and communicating.
Communication and understanding transitions are central to everything we do in Robins Class. We place strong emphasis on helping pupils understand what is happening now and what is coming next, using visual support, objects of reference and consistent routines. We use small, carefully structured transitions throughout the school day to build confidence, predictability and independence.
We work together as a close-knit team of specialist teachers and support staff to ensure every child receives the support and encouragement they need throughout the school day. Our team brings together expertise in sensory processing, communication development and therapeutic approaches, working collaboratively to create personalised learning experiences,
Every achievement matters in Robins Class, whether it's making eye contact for the first time, using a new communication method, or managing a transition independently. We celebrate these moments and use them as building blocks for further learning. We strive to create a nurturing environment where every pupil feels safe, valued and able to succeed at their own pace, knowing that their individual progress is recognised and celebrated.
Our approach is rooted in understanding that progress looks different for every child, and that creating the right conditions for learning through sensory support, communication and positive relationships, is just as important as the curriculum content itself. We believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is essential to each child's success, so we maintain regular communication about your child's day, share their achievements and work together to support their learning both at school and at home.
