Charging and Remissions Policy
At Stanley School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils have equal access to school activities and educational experiences, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. We want every child to participate fully in school life.
All education during school hours is free. Stanley School does not charge for any activity undertaken as part of the School Curriculum.
What We Don't Charge For
- Education during school hours (including materials, books and equipment)
- Transport to or from school or educational visits
- Activities that are part of the curriculum
What We May Charge For
- Materials or equipment where you wish your child to own them
- Optional activities outside school hours (e.g., breakfast clubs, after-school clubs)
- Board and lodging on residential visits (financial support available – see below)
School Meals and Milk
Pupil dinners: £2.50 per meal
Free school meals and universal free school meals are provided at no cost. Packed lunches are welcome.
Under 5s and free school meals pupils receive free milk.
Payments: Via Compass on the Parent Portal
Voluntary Contributions
We may ask for voluntary contributions towards:
- School trips and visits
- Sporting activities requiring transport
- Theatre visits and workshops
- Class snack: Up to £2 per week (in addition to bagels, cereal and fruit provided by school)
Contributions are genuinely voluntary. No child will be excluded if you cannot pay. However, activities may be cancelled if we don't receive enough contributions.
Financial Support
Free or subsidised residential visit places are available for families receiving:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (income under £16,190)
- Universal Credit (income under £7,400)
- Working Tax Credit run-on
- Pension Credit (guaranteed element)
